According to trade experts, if you would like to make it big in Hollywood, then all you would have to do is make a superhero movie. This is because nothing seems to generate a greater amount of sales and appreciation than seeing the hero and villain battle it out. Factor in a damsel in distress in the equation and you will be getting a surefire recipe for success.
That being said, there is absolutely no doubt that Marvel and DC Comics movies have been selling like hot cakes ever since Hollywood has started producing it. Never in the history of movies has it happened that people are not flocking to the cinema halls in huge droves to catch the latest superhero movie.
Fast forward to the year 2016 and the biggest attraction of this year undoubtedly was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. If the trailers were not enough to hype up the suspense, this movie featured two of the finest actors in Hollywood – Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman. And with Christopher Nolan being one of the producers, there was absolutely no doubt to see what he had up his sleeve next.
Superman and Batman are considered to be the powerhouse legends when it comes to defining superheroes. None of the other even seems to come close to it. So when the decision to bring them together in a movie was announced, people were dying to see what the movie was all about. After a very frustrating wait, the movie was finally released on 25th March 2015. Just like routine, it opened up to jam-packed cinema halls which is undoubtedly considered to be a good sign. However, the downfall started to appear when people started to come out of the cinema halls. Sadly, this movie just did not live up to their expectations. Let us try to find out more about what actually went wrong here.
According to all the major movie critics, this movie is considered to be the most beautiful disaster which was created in this year. Despite the storyline being good, the acting beyond phenomenal, the movie just could not garner the praise and appreciation that it was looking for. Being a superhero movie, the graphics and fight scenes were also top-notch. But the viewers still felt that a big chunk of the movie was missing.
If you are planning on watching it on the big screen, you are definitely in for a visual treat. However, you will also be able to clearly see the flaws being portrayed on screen. This can be said in terms of the haphazard plotting, the main characters which have been very thinly sketched, and some instances which just seem to pop out of nowhere. Despite the numerous attempts by the main characters to pull on the movie, you could see the strain getting to them as well. Even though the movie gets off to a good start with Bruce Wayne in the opening scene, the movie seems to falter much more rapidly in the second half.
Therefore, even though it would be wrong to let all the die-hard fans down, it is undoubtedly the bitter truth. On the other hand, if you would like to get a feel of watching it in iMax 3D, then it is highly recommended that you search out a theater near you as soon as you can.
